Digital Libraries (DL) offer unlimited potential, where the
rapid application of digital technologies to generate, modify,
replicate and search information has resulted in dramatic growth
in the quantum of digital information. Digital resources are
being created, as the technology available at an affordable cost
to the libraries. Building-up digital collection and infrastructure
required to access them is a challenge that every library has
to deal with today. As an Amrita University Initiative through
Amrita Colloquium on Digital Libraries – 2005 (ACDL-2005),
we would like to introduce different experiences in DL technologies
and managing the Digital Collection in Libraries. Each Panelist
will present their experiences on Creation and Management of
Digital Libraries and E-Resources. After each presentation, participants
will get enough time to interact with the panelists.
Participation to ACDL-2005 is open for Librarians, Assistant
Librarians and Information Science professionals at a nominal
fee of Rs. 100/- Registration is based on first come first serve
and whoever interested have to contact the organizers by e-mail
or post with their name, affiliation and other contact details,
on or before 3 February, 2005.
