1. The various courses of AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM [University Established Under Section 3 of
UGC act 1956], KOCHI CAMPUS offered during 2008 - 2009, at the AMRITA SCHOOL OF ARTS AND
SCIENCES, BRAHMASTHANAM, EDAPPALLY NORTH, KOCHI - 682 024.

2. What is the procedure for getting admission to Courses ?
A. Application Forms for courses other than MCA can be obtained from the Office on payment of Cash
or DD (Rs. 400 for PG and Rs. 300 for UG courses), in favour of “AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM
“payable at Kochi. Procedures for Admission to the M.C.A. course is separate and already finished.
B. The eligibility for admission:
- for M. Sc. (Information Technology):
Graduation in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the Subjects with minimum 50%
marks and Aptitude Evaluation and Interview.
- for M.Com. (Finance and Systems)
B.Com., B.B.M., B.B.A., B.Sc. (Banking) with 50% marks and Aptitude Evaluation and Interview.
- for M.Sc. (Hospital Administration) :
Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks and Aptitude Evaluation and Interview.
- for M.F.A. (Visual Media) – Specialization: Broadcast Journalism and Video Production
Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks and Aptitude Evaluation and Interview.
- for M.F.A. (Visual Media) – Specialisation: Web Design, Content Management and Animation
Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks and Aptitude Evaluation and Interview.

C. Application Forms can also be downloaded from the site www.amrita.edu/artsandscience. Such
applications when filled in and sent to us, the requisite Application Fee [Rs. 400 for PG and Rs. 300 for
UG] should also be enclosed. An acknowledgement and a copy of the detailed Prospectus will be
mailed to candidates on receipt of the completed forms.

3. Is Hostel Accommodation available ?
Ashram Hostel Accommodation is available ONLY for Girls. Hostel is directly managed by the Ashram
and accommodation will be provided according to the availability of rooms. Ashram Hostel daily routine
is compulsory for all inmates.
Hostel dues (present rate) will be approximately between Rs. 2,000/- and Rs. 2,200/- per month for
boarding and lodging. Mess is strictly vegetarian.

Structure for all courses are credit based and has continuous Internal Evaluation and Final examination
in all subjects. Syllabus for all courses have been prepared by eminent experts of Board of Studies,
drawn from the relevant areas and reflect most updated coverage with international academic and
industry standards.

6. What are our unique advantages ?

7. Does the Institute provide Value Education ?
Value education, discipline and decorum have become a way of life in the campus. Topics in
Behavioural Ethics, Communicative English, Group Dynamics and Soft Skills have been strewn into the
regular curriculum in formal and informal ways. The objective is to improve positive attitude,
communicative ability, self confidence and will power of students. The sessions on Value Education are
handled by Consultants, Mentors, Counseling Experts and Spiritual personalities. Political activities are
not permitted in the campus.
8. What is the mode of delivery of the course ?
All the courses offered here are of regular full-time schedule leading to award of Degrees by AMRITA
VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM, on successful completion. Examination schedules are notified well in
advance. Results are published in time.
N.B.: THE COURSES ARE NOT OF ANY DISTANCE EDUCATIONMODE.
9. Is it possible to get Educational Bank loans ?
The students of AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM being directly enrolled, have been getting
Educational Bank loans subject to Banks’ stipulated conditions. There is excellent Administrative
support of the School. Proper guidance and counseling on how to get Bank loans is also provided to the
students and parents.
10. Will the students get Travel Concession ?
After the formal enrolment in the University rolls, the KSRTC, Railway etc. have been so far providing
eligible concessions to the students subject to their stipulated regulations. Institute usually corresponds
with these offices to get assistance for the same.
11. Do we provide Assistance for Placement and Corporate Relations ?
Institute has a good track record of placement. Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR) at the University
headquarters and leading HRD organizations like SHREDS and ABACUS Consultants have also been
providing assistance to students in placements.
Prestigious organizations are coming for Campus Recruitments. Many of our students have also been
placed in the various Institutions under the Math.
Formal regular training is being given for appearing for CAT, MAT and MCA entrance. Campus
Recruitment Training also is regularly being provided by reputed Professional Training Agencies.
