Learning Environment

Library

Our library has a large collection of books, journals and magazines. The exhaustive collection of books also include many international editions. Reading area is also provided for facilitating quiet reading and self learning for the students.

Visual Media department has a seperate media library for Books, Journals and more than 500 World Film classics. This adds fervour and quality to the guided sessions on film appreciation and also activities of Media Association at Amrita ( MAA ).

The School Placement Services are also coordinated centrally through the Centre for Corporate Relations ( CCR ) at the university headquarters at Ettimadai.

Coaching for CAT and CRT

Coaching for CAT for MBA Admissions, MCA Entrance and Campus Recruitment (CRT Training) are conducted in the campus for the UG and PG courses. Professional Training Agency TIME is engaged in imparting the Training Sessions.

The Institute has excellent DTP and Repographic facilities and graphic design systems.

Power Supply

Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi is equipped with high capacity uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems and diesel genset to support the UPS. Therefore the normal functioning of the institute and the campus are protected round the clock from power failures.

Timely Course Materials

The required Text Books, Course Materials and hand outs for the students are made available during the appropriate time in every semester.

Amrita Technology and Management Assocaition (ATMA) and Media Association at Amrita (MAA)

The two associations oraganise lot of lectures, study workshops, etc. in a bid of supplement professional working knowledge. One of the most eventful happening is the annual extra mural lecture series 'Vidyamritam' in which not less than 50 lectures are oraganised.

Hostel

Hostel accomodation is provided for girls only after screening selection. Hostel is directly managed by the ashram under the close supervision of resident staff. Food is strictly vegeterian. Since the School is located close to the Healthcare Campus, the super specialty hospital AIMS is very closely accessible to the campus community for health care needs.

Hostel residents will have to strictly and compulsorily adhere to the seperate norms and strictures of the hostel, befitting the ashram environment .
For the ethical orientation and for improving the will power, concentration and positive energy absolutely essential for the strenuous academic pursuit, the hostel daily routine has compulsory Sadhana in the morning and evening, which includes Japa, Meditation, Yoga, Group chanting of AMMA’s Ashtothara archana, Sri Lalitha Sahasranama, Bhagavat Geetha and Bhajans. Hostel routines call for extreme self - discipline.

Regular coaching is imparted to the interested students in Karnatic Music Vocal and in instruments like Violin, Harmonium, Tabla and Keyboard. Training in dance is also given.

Students are encouraged to do selfless service for gardening, environmental activities and community outreach programme.

The objective of the Spiritual routine is to inculcate in the young minds, the Divine faith, spirit of selflessness, self awareness and mental strength to face the challenges from situations which may arise in their future profession and social life. Those violating the ashram hostel rules will not be allowed to continue their stay.
