Kalamritam - The cultural fiesta
Kalamritam

School conducts a popular annual cultural fiesta ‘Kalamritam’ spanning three days focused mainly in Indian culture, arts and music. Our students have participated in the South Zone Inter University Youth Fesival and won prizes.


Vidyamritam - Lecture Series
Vidyamritam

The popular annual extramural lecture series ‘Vidyamritam’ is organised by ATMA and MAA. ‘Vidyamritam’ has become a popular extramural expert series with its holistic approach for knowledge dissemination.

During the Seventh Vidyamritam series, more than 60 lectures and Amrita Film Festivals and Workshops were conducted. Conferences and Workshops are being organised in Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Finance and Stock Exchange, Visual Media and Arts, Film and Documentary.


Samskriti - a Cultural Group
Sports

The students of UG and PG batches are regularly being enlightened by a series of lectures on Indian values and culture.They are trained to the realms of higher reality in life which should be equally focused along with education.

A group named Samskriti started at the campus on 9th September 2009. About 200 students from both UG and PG batches constitutes the core group of Samskriti volunteers. The group aims at practising ethical values and serving the fellow beings inspired by teachings from all Mahatmas like Amma. Selected students from the group were trained in Amritapuri to learn self- help activities like recycling waste, doll making, fancy item making, stiching and embroidery etc. Money they received from these products are being used purely for helping the orphan children at Amma’s Tribal Orphanage at Parippaly, Matruchaya and visit other places like Goshala, Cancer centres, Pain and Palliative Care Centres etc. Students do this during their spare time.

The Annual Sports Day is being conducted during March - April. Indoor and Outdoor games such as Cricket, Badminton, Chess, Caroms, Throw Ball, Race, Sack Race etc. are the major events. Staff also participates in various events.


Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) Technique for students and staff

Every year the new students and staff members are imparted to Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) Technique. The classes are taken by a team of five staff members along with the Director who had taken an intensive Two Day Instructors Training Camp at Amritapuri.


Educational Nature Camps at Thattekkadu and Parambikkulam Wild Life Sanctuaries
Onam

Educational nature camps are organized by the Department of Visual Media and Communication for the students to get practical exposure on lighting for Photography and Videography. The camps are arranged at various Wild Life Sanctuaries in Kerala. The camps are well packed with trekking and study of different herbs, birds and animals along with the study classes by experts. The students are given photography assignments which would be displayed during the Photography Exhibition organized at Brahmasthanam Festival.


Crane and Lighting Classes for Visual Media Students
Onam

Industry Experts Sri. Radha Ramanan and Sri. P.J. Cherian conducts Crane, Track and Trolley and Lighting live demonstration classes for the B.Sc. Visual Media and MFA students. The sessions are provided as part of the Videography practicals. Sri. Radha Ramanan is a Professional Cinematographer and Sri. P.J. Cherian is the Chief Cameraman of Malayala Manorama Television.


Onam Celebrations
Onam

Onam is being celebrated in the traditional way every year. Epic characters such as Mahabali, Vamanan, Mahavishnu, Mahalakshmi, Hanuman, Siva, Parvathi, etc. is being enacted by the students in a procession that goes in and around the campus. A grand Onam Sadya is being served. Pookala Matsaram (Floral Decoration Contest), Thiruvathira Kali, Vadam Vali (Tug of War), Musical Chair, etc. is also organized.


Teachers Day Celebrations

Tribute to the teachers was rendered during the Teachers Day. The students presented stage programme with audio visual presentations filled with emotional fervor, depicting the holistic services rendered by the teachers. The students also presented mementos to their revered teachers as tokens of their love and gratitude.
