On the 27th of August 2006, Bangalore was witness to a fun-filled and potent gathering of ASBians. Not only where the alumni present in full force, but the occasion was also graced by the presence of such distinguished guests as Dr Ram Ramesh –faculty from SUNY Buffalo, Mr.Sekhar Babu – Chairperson of Indo-Us committee for MITES, Mr. H.N.Shrinivasan – HR Director of HP, Dr Balasubramoniam – Faculty of ASB and Mr. Easwar Iyer - Placement Director from ASB.

Six o’clock on Sunday saw all the participants gathered at the Banquet Hall of Park Residency in Brigade Road Bangalore, and no more time was wasted in bringing the gathering to order. For the first half an hour, alumni and guests were just milling around, chatting… a few hugs from friends old and new, lots of laughter, lots of fun. Then Mr.Sekhar Babu brought the event to order. The event began with an introductory speech from Mr. Easwar, where he explained the objective behind having the meet. The floor was then handed over to Dr Ram Ramesh, who gave a very informative presentation on MITES and what it meant for MBAs like us.

Once Mr Ram Ramesh had finished his presentation, the podium belonged to Mr.Sekhar Babu who, in his most eloquent and captivating style laid out in detail the roadmap for the roll out MITES. He explained in detail the role played by ASB in the new venture between ASB & SUNY Buffalo, and the progress this would herald in the course of higher education at ASB.

After Mr.Sekhar Babu it was Mr Shrinivasan’s turn to enlighten us why corporates in India are desperate to be part of programmes like MITES, and explained in detail the advantages one will derive by being part of the programme. He also lauded ASB and SUNY Buffalo on this first of a kind initiative in India.

After the distinguished guests had left the stage, a few words in thanks were offered by Mr. Kesavan K (Dy Manager – M/s Godrej & Boyce Mfg.Co.Ltd), alumni from 2004-06 batch, and with that it was time for dinner.

Food was served as buffet, and in between mouthfuls, the alumni got back to laughter, songs, chit chats and what not… It was one great happy moment….. Every single alumni let go of the tensions of professional lives and whole heartedly enjoyed each others’ company…

Once dinner was over it was time for introductions by alumni Sreejith from first batch, Priya, Honey Krishnan ad other friends from 2001 batch, Joji third batch… Anurag, Sandesh, Sandeep, Hari…. And the list goes on…..

Well, that busy person called Time had moved on and suddenly it was 10:30PM… time for all to leave…. With a heavy, yet very very happy heart the alumni parted ways, and thus ended one of the most memorable alumni get togethers in our ASB history
