Nearly 45 years teaching, research and consulting experience. Held the Chair in Human Resources Management at Amrita. Has worked with the Planning Commission, Central Social Welfare Board, Office of the Registrar General, India and the then Ministry of Community Development and Cooperation, Govt. of India for about eight years. Joined IIM-Calcutta in 1967 and retired in 1997 as Professor of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. Spent nine months in Manchester Business School, England for training and research in the area of Organisational Behaviour under Prof. Tom Lupton, the then Dy. Director and Professor of Organisational Behaviour there. Has international research experience with ICPE, Lubljana, Yugoslavia and Institute of Social Studies, the Hague, Netherlands. Produced many publications with three books and several monographs.

Worked in Godrej for 21 years from 1981 to 2002, in Sales of Office Automation and Communication Products. From 1994 to 2002, was the Regional Manager (South India) for the Division. Has been involved in theatre for nearly 40 years primarily as an actor, but also as actor-trainer and playwright. Has also done a number of ad films, serials, and feature films. While leading teams in Godrej, was struck by the realization that a theatre group instinctively manifests all the positive dynamics of a powerful, happy team that enjoys change and challenge. Experimented with theatre techniques to develop similar traits among own teams in Godrej. The results were positive and were noticed by other divisions, who also experimented with theatre-based workshops. Corporate Theatre, over the last 5 years has been welcomed across a wide variety of organizations and industries. Participants (around 11,800 over the last 4 years) have ranged from plant workers to CEOs, Directors, and Presidents, of some of India’s best known organizations as well as multinationals, including SCOPE International, Airtel, Verizon, HCL and Cognizant.
