After a morning of formal welcome to ASB the ice breaking session was surely a welcome change. We had become jittery and nervous about our stay in ASB. After some very serious speeches and many scary PPT slides showing how many ways we could manage to leave the program most of us had been left with a grim picture in mind. A small chat with the alumni who seemed to be in love with ASB , made us breathe easy. By high tea, the ice had already begun to melt.
Our ice breaking session began when Ishwar sir walked in ,throwing away all the seriousness ,donning a casual T-shirt and a bright smile on his face. Most of us were huddled together in our own tiny groups.he made us take our first step towards knowing our friends. When we were asked to introduce our neighbour to the entire class, it was nothing but fun. We realised that though we come from all corners of the nation, with different languages and culture, we share the same dream. All barriers began to break when we started to sharing our passions, strengths, likes and dislikes.
Then we were introduced to the faculty members of ASB. One look at the warmth on their faces, made us like them instantly. What followed was the hilarious 'Signal To Noise' round, where we found ourselves forgetting all formalities, laughing and exchanging jokes. It was then that we realised that we had already started bonding.
We had a horde of talents that was enjoyed and appreciated by all. Nishi, Anu, Shanta, Sundhanshu, Ivan, and Sonia were only a few of the newcomers who entertained us with their beautiful songs. We eventually all of us found ourselves singing together. Sparks flew when Pawan and Amit when they forgot all inhibitions and danced Bhangra while Amardeep sang. Rahul stole the show when he showed us his moon walk. The skit which tailed the series of events was surely a winner.
Strangers are just friends waiting to be made. Realising that our friends will be our new family from now on .We went back with many more smiles and few apprehensions.
