Anger, despair, pride, elation, warmth, disappointment, ecstasy, anxiety, euphoria, depression, adrenalin, delight, camaraderie, trauma, jubilation, photo-finish, n…!!! Vocabulary finds itself drained when it has to describe PRAGATI-2005.
Pragati-2005, on hindsight, was a not-an-ordinary event by any standards. But if we were to quote the teams that took part in it, then the event was an extraordinarily managed one. An annual inter b-school management event it was, but according to students from b-schools like IIT-Chennai, GIFT, BIM, Kirloskar, etc… PRAGATI-2005 was a two-day course on professionalism, event management, hospitality and brotherhood.
PRAGATI-2005 offered the contestants a platform to brush their brains and wit on a multitude of management games, which were formulated broadly based on the disciplines of Marketing, Finance, Systems, Operations and Human Relations. For the organizers it meant endless brainstorming sessions, numerous rehearsals and sleepless nights. On the D-day they watched with sense of pride and honor, the participants taking part in the games with best of the spirits and later, when they showered them with accolades on coming up with excellently crafted games.
It won’t be bragging to say that the visiting teams, which came from different parts of the country, were in unison to appreciate the professionalism and hospitality exhibited by the Amrita students.
A major draw of PRAGATI – 2005 was the presence of some industry heavy weights like Mr. Jayaramakrishnan, VP-Sales, TCS, Mr. Naveen, ICICI, Vehicle Loan, Mr. Krishnan…. Etc.
The event saw 230 odd students working in unison to deliver outcomes that bore the halo of professionalism, quality and distinctiveness. Onlookers might have been surprised to see people running around busily, but invariably with a smile. The ‘touch’ was to be seen and felt in the reception centre, accommodation venue, canteen and conveyance lot. It all ended on a happy note with the participants, organizers, corporates, students and faculties lingering with sweet memories overflowing in their minds. |
