Dear diary,
Today is one of the most memorable days of my life as I had a wonderful experience in the "Onam Feast". Being from Manipur,
somewhere 3500kms away from here, it was my first feel of the festival. Onam is celebrated throughout Kerala with pomp and
show. However, we celebrated Onam at ASB in a slightly different way. We organised a grand feast especially for all
the workers and labourers inside the campus. The 'guests' for the day started arriving at around 11 o'clock. So many of
them were there, at least 1500. We divided among ourselves the different tasks of serving the people. Everyone did their
job whole-heartedly. At first,Iwas serving water alongwith some friends but later switched on to different items like
'Sambhar','Rasam', etc. It was hectic but there was pleasure in that.
These people are not fortunate like us. They could have been in better positons but fate has taken its toll on them. And
here we are, studying Business which obviously means how to earn more. We took a break to serve them, which of course was
worthwhile. We should always remember that we live more for the others than ourselves. This is a short life and if we keep
concentrating on ourselves only, we would never know what we had done in our lives when the end comes. Many misconceive MBA
as the shortest route to riches. In fact, I was one. But I realized riches lie in the hearts rather than materials. And
of course the "Onam Feast" was one which definitely made me Rich.
