Admission Criteria for M. A. and PGDJ

ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to both the Programmes is a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor’s Degree.

Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s Degree Examination may also apply subject to completing writing their examinations, if any, before joining the Programme. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission. Eligible candidates with appropriate industry experience have an added advantage.

CAPTEST 2008

All candidates seeking admission to Amrita School of Communication for the PG programmes will be put through a selection process conducted by the school called CAPTEST at the Ettimadai campus of the Amrita University.

NATURE OF CAPTEST: CAPTEST is an examination in Creative Writing, Group Discussion, Elocution & Personal Interview.

Demand Draft for Rs. 60,550/- towards College Fee drawn in favour of AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM payable at Coimbatore .

A separate Demand Draft for Rs. 28,600/- towards Hostel Fee drawn in favour of AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM - HOSTEL, payable at Coimbatore .

A separate Demand Draft for Rs. 18,000/- towards Mess Fee drawn in favour of AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM - MESS, payable at Coimbatore .

NOTE: The above fee structure is only indicative. The School reserves the right to revise, add or modify the fee structure as and when necessary.

Refund Policy

1. Tuition fee once paid is not refundable. However, if the candidate fails to clear his / her qualifying Bachelor's degree examination, fee is refunded only upon reasonable deductions made by the university.

2. Caution deposit will be refunded on completion of the course.

Admission Criteria for B. A. Mass Communication

ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification to apply to B. A. Mass Communication programme is a pass in the Higher Secondary Board Examination with an aggregate of 50%, or any equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

Those who are awaiting their results can also apply. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission.

Instructions to apply

1) The application can be obtained by post by sending an amount of Rs 350 by DD. The DD should be drawn in favour of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amrita School of Communication, payable at Coimbatore. The duly filled in application form should be mailed to The Admissions Coordinator, Amrita School of Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Ettimadai, Coimbatore - 641 105.

2) Sending the Downloaded form: Applications can also be downloaded from this web site. The downloaded application form duly filled should be sent with a Demand Draft for Rs.350/. Candidates applying for more than one course will have to send a separate application form along with a separate demand draft for each course.

3) Filled in application form should reach the Admissions Coordinator .

4) All Demand Drafts are to be drawn in favour of 'Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham-Amrita School of Communication' from any recognized bank and payable at Coimbatore.
