PLACEMENTS

Placements in the media and allied industries are based on portfolios and merit. Generally, placements in all reasonably good media schools is in the range of 90 per cent to 100 per cent. But campus interviews for journalism jobs take place only when a new edition of a newspaper or a TV channel is about to be launched. However, more 24 hour channels have meant that more programmes are being made and technically trained personnel are always in demand.

And not merely, Television. Campus placements are now easy for a reasonably talented fresher in new avenues like marketing communications, web and animation. Major areas of placements will be Advertising Agencies, Animation Industry, Graphic Design industry, Newspaper Industry, PR Agencies, Television News/Entertainment channels, TV Programme Production houses, NGOs, Corporate Communications Departments, Visual Communications Industry, Web Design Industry and Films.

A number of Media companies have approached the school for students. However, the current batch of M. A. students have expressed their inablity to join until the completion of their programme in May 2009. During this course, students shall be taking up internships.

The two programmes are fully geared to take account of the emerging placement opportunities in media and industrial environment.
