About ICTS

The Information Communication and Technology Services (ICTS) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was formed to identify, provide and maintain reliable computing facilities, computing network environment, communication facilities and related infrastructure to facilitate education, research and instructional processes. Some of the few focus areas are :

» Campus-wide computing and networking infrastructure design. » Hosting the campus network operations centre and network services. » Administration of computer labs. » Conduct of IT Training programs. » Technical support to all departments on IT enabled services. » Maintenance of all hardware and software systems. » Maintenance of learning resource facilities.

ICTS Infrastructure

ICTS manages all IT related infrastructure for the campus.

Student Facilities
The campus is equippped with all facilities required by students for their academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Students are encouraged make optimum use of these facilites.

Computing Facilities

Computer Labs
Computer Labs are located at all academic blocks and students can access the facilities as per allocation made by ICTS in consultation with their parent department. Please consult your class advisor to ascertain the lab allocation for you. Computer labs shall generally remain open to students from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm. The labs shall remain closed during the breakfast time and dinner time for half an hour. Computer labs also remain open on selected holidays subject to availability of students.

Total Machines Available  :  About 1600+ in numbers.

Lab Rules
All students accessing the labs shall abide by the Lab Rules. The Lab Rules are also displayed in the Computer Labs for reference.

User Accounts
Students shall be allotted user accounts to access computer lab desktops and campus server as per the requirements to fulfill their academic responsibilities with recommendation from the Chairman of their parent department. Please be aware of the existing University IT Use Policy.
In case of loss of username/password or any other support requirements, please contact the Lab Administrator of the lab, Faculty member or your Class Advisor.

Lab Rules
All students accessing the labs shall abide by the Lab Rules. The Lab Rules are also displayed in the Computer Labs for reference.

Printing of documents
Students shall access the printing facility available in the labs at nominal costs. Please be aware that the printing facility shall be accessed on a first come first served basis and shall be managed by the Lab Administrator. Students are encouraged to coordinate and cooperate with the lab staff .

CD Burning
CD Burning facilities are available on payment of nominal fees. Please contact the Lab Administrator for the same.

Internet Facilities

Browsing Centers

Browsing centres are located at the Main Building Complex and the IT Block. Students shall access the browsing centres on a payment of nominal fees. The browsing centres shall remain open as per the computer lab timings.

These browsing centres are connected to the internet over separate 2Mb Broadband connections.
