•Seminar on “Security in Peer-to-Peer Systems” by Mr. Richard Hartmann, Chair of Network Security at Technical University of Munich, Germany on 27 October, 2006 along with TIFAC-CORE in Cybersecurity



•Seminar on “Higher Education in Germany” by Mr. Vinay Aggarwal, Faculty, Technical University of Berlin, Germany on 9 January, 2007.



•Seminar on “Higher Education in USA” by Dr. Venkitsamy Raju, Director – Science and Technology, College of Technology, State University of New York, Farmingdale, USA on 19 January, 2007.

The events were organized in conjunction with the Coimbatore sub-centre of IETE and student branch of CSI, which are driven by the IT faculty members.

National Seminar on Mobile and Network Security



The department of Information Technology, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore along with the TIFAC Centre for Excellence and Relevance (CORE) in Cyber Security of Amrita University conducted an AICTE sponsored National Seminar on “Mobile & Network Security and Cryptographic Protocols” on 23 and 24 March, 2007. Around 100 faculty members and research scholars from engineering colleges all over India attended the conference, which was sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India.

•Dr. M. Sethumadhavan, Head, TIFAC CORE in Cyber Security, Amrita University

Dr. P. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham presided over the seminar. Prof. K. Gangadharan, Chairman-IT, Amrita and Dr. M. Sethumadhavan distributed certificates to the participants.

The seminar was a grand success with discussion on major issues of concern in the field of Cyber Security like human activity recognition and monitoring, security aspects in wireless communications, cryptographic protocols, security protocol design etc. The event was organized by Mr. Prashant R.Nair, Asst Professor-IT and supported by Mr. C.
