Chemistry group has facilities to carry out researches in the areas like
•  Synthetic organic chemistry,
•  Coordination chemistry,
•  Electroanalytical chemistry
•  Bioelectrochemistry.

Physics group concentrates on theoretical researches in the area of

• Quantum mechanical studies of Nuclear scattering in low energy and heavy ion reactions
Quantum Optics
• Relativistic Quantum theory, history, philosophy, techniques and applications

And has faculty expertise in the field of
• Thin Film Physics
• Astrophysics

Department has six research students (all are faculty members of the department), five of them pursuing Doctoral studies in the Physics and one in Chemistry
