About the Club

The very word Prakriti exemplifies nature, purity and a feel of freshness. The motto of this club is 'Keen to go Green'. The inspiration behind the club is to create awareness about the importance of going Eco friendly in today's world.

Green Campus

With the aim of creating a green campus the club has conducted events and awareness programs for the students.

Campus Cleaning has been conducted twice in the college this academic year with the active participation of the students and the plastic waste collected was disposed in a safe manner.

For segregating the plastic and non plastic waste from the college campus and for the safe disposal of the wastes collected, we have placed 'ECO BINS' at strategic locations in the campus.

Awareness posters have been put up all over the campus about excessive usage of water & electricity.

Fun Events

Fun events related to theme of the club have been conducted on Wednesdays and have received good response from the students.

• Art from Waste : With the intention of making use of the wastes thrown in and around the campus, this event was conducted on 25-8-2010. The waste was transformed into attractive and useful things by the participants.


• Cook without Flame : The participants are expected to make edible food items without using fire to cook it. The item with the best presentation and taste was awarded.


• Green Art : In order to encourage green thinking, the students were expected to paint their ideas mostly in green. A painting competition was organised for the students on 19-1-2011 which received good participation from them.

Seminars

Bhoomi organization conducted two seminars one about 'Consumerism and Good Life'. The speakers from the organization told the students about the importance of choosing Eco Friendly products and how to choose the same. The same was conducted on 19 -01 -11. Another seminar about 'Food Health and Climatic Changes' was also conducted.
