National Conference on Cyber Security

March 8 - 10, 2007

We are living in an age of Knowledge Economy & Information Technology all around us. The scenario has moved much beyond the era of “Media is the message:…hot and cold media” etc. of the great Marshall Mc Luhan's concepts. We practically now live in a Borderless World of Information Technology. One of the major concerns today is to protect the real intent of the originator/originators of data and organize for proper dissemination of content to only the intended audience with complete privacy all the way up to destination/destinations without fear or loss of any part or tapping by others.

In today's interconnected and increasingly networked world, societies are vulnerable to a wide variety of threats, including deliberate attacks on critical information infrastructures with debilitating effects on our economies as also on our socities. In order to safeguard our systems and infrastructure and in order to instill confidence in online trade, commerce, banking, telemedicine, e-governence and a host of other applications, we need to strengthen our collective global cyber security. As this depends on the security practices of each and every networked country, business and citizen; we need to develop a global culture of cyber security.

The objective of this Conference is to focus on awareness, education and vision for the future in all areas of Cyber Security. It will bring together experts in all the fields e.g. from Industry, Research Labs, Academia, Telecom & IT operators to elicit their views; deliberate in depth on all related aspects and recommend a path for the present and future.

The conferance will have only invited talks from experts in their field. Some of the experts presenting papers are Prof. C.E. Veni Madhavan, IISc, Dr. C. Mazumdar of Jadavpur Univ., Kolkatta, Dr. A.K. Seth (ex Director, Reliance Communications), Dr. Sarat Chand Babu of CDAC Hyderabad, Dr. Sanjay Burman of CAIR, Bangalore, Also experts from Banks, Advocates & Professors in Cyber Laws are presenting papers.
