PROJECTS

SP2FIR filter implementation using CVX toolkit

i) Project Title

Study for Development of Methodology Detection Tools for Digital Contents Plagiarism and other Piracy Software.

ii) Funding Agency (or internal funding)

Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Department of Information Technology.

iii) Brief Project Summary

This project aims to study the extent of software piracy and other digital content piracy in India, the methods by which piracy is done, and also the common methods adopted by organizations to curtail piracy of their intellectual properties. The project also aims at finding, developing and integrating softwares used for detecting digital content plagiarism and software piracy.

iv) Technical Status vis-a-vis objectives

Just Started

v) Duration and year of initiation

24 months, initiated in May, 2005.

vi) Expected date of completion

May, 2007.

ii) Project Title

Wavelet based Vibrational analysis for spacecraft structures.

ii) Funding Agency (or internal funding)

Indian Space Research Organization.

iii) Brief Project Summary

This project aims at developing wavelet-based algorithm for vibration analysis for a variety of fault conditions. A fault simulator is being fabricated which can simulate all possible faults. Signals taken from the simulator are processed using wavelets and machine condition monitoring done.

iv) Technical Status vis-a-vis objectives

Developed a fault simulation hardware, which can simulate about 25 fault conditions. Softwares are being developed

v) Duration and year of initiation

24 months, initiated in 2004.

vi) Expected date of completion

December, 2006.

iii) Project Title

Flow visualization using PIV and PLIF imaging techniques.

ii) Funding Agency (or internal funding)

Indian Space Research Organization.

iii) Brief Project Summary

This project aims at developing softwares for analyzing laser based images captured using particle image velocimetry and planar laser induced fluorescence imaging techniques. Experimental setups for PIV and PLIF are also being developed.

iv) Technical Status vis-a-vis objectives

Software is already developed for image analysis. Hardware is being developed.

v) Duration and year of initiation

24 months, initiated in 2004.

vi) Expected date of completion

December, 2006.

iv) Project Title

Target Identification using Support Vector Machines.

ii) Funding Agency (or internal funding)

NPOL, Kochi

iii) Brief Project Summary

This project aims at developing parallel algorithms for target identification using support vector machines. The novelty of the algorithm lies in adaptive incremental learning in which algorithm adapt to new data sets.

iv) Technical Status vis-a-vis objectives

Finished the initial phase of Matlab routines development.

v) Duration and year of initiation

18 months, initiated in 2004.

vi) Expected date of completion

December 2005.
