Dr. M. Aravindakshan secured his Ph.D., from the University of Madras and has over 40 years of experience in teaching, research, extension and research Management in Tropical Horticulture. He held positions as Prof. & Head, Department of Horticulture, Director – Centre for Tree Crops and Environmental Horticulture, Kerala Agricultural University (India) and Chairman Coconut Development Board, GOI. He had his post-doctoral programme at the University of Hawaii, USA. He was a visiting in the University of Paraiba, Brazil and has widely travelled in India and abroad. As an expert from India to Panama, he gave report for development of Horticulture. A well known organic agriculture expert and landscapist Dr. Aravindakshan took up massive tree planting in the Amrita University, besides maintaining a collection of medicinal plants. He is the Secretary of Biogreen India, which is committed to the cause of organic agriculture and Vice-President of Indian Society of Organic Agriculture. He has attended several national and international conferences. He established the first College of Horticulture in India. His current interests are organic agriculture, medicinal plants, tree planting and landscaping.
Dr. D. Kannan completed his M.Sc., in Botany from VHNSN College (1987), Virudhunagar and awarded Ph.D., (1996) in Environmental Sciences from School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. His specialization is silviculture, plant eco-physiology, soil-plant interaction, composting and medicinal plants. He did his post-doctoral research on Rhizobium isolation, culture and application on tree growth improvement as CSIR-Research Associate (1996-1999). He published 20 research papers, most of them in peer-reviewed international journals and at several national and international conferences. He is in the editorial committee for the EcoHealth Journal, published by Springer. He worked as Lecturer at Salim Ali School of Ecology and Environment Sciences, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry and at VHNSN College, Virudhunagar. He has widely traveled in India and countries of Germany (Technical University of Dresden, Max Plank Institute, Berlin), Australia (CSIRO, Canberra), Singapore (National University of Singapore) and South Africa (Agricultural University, Natal) for international symposia and for visiting research institutions. Shri. K. Kathiravan completed his M.Sc., Environmental Science, in Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirapalli. Organized Environment Education and Awareness (2002-2003) at Heber Au-Sable Institute, Tiruchirapalli.
