Executive Summary
Caradanol is one of the byproducts from cashew industry. Chemically it is alkyl substituted phenol. It has got many industrial applications right from polymer to fuel industries. In this work , our aim is to synthesise, characterise and study the property of cardanol polyethyleneamine mannich base condensates. Further to prepare amidoamine by the reaction of polyethyleneamines with unsaturated esters and followed by Mannich condensation with cardanol. The planned synthesis of the above mentioned compounds has been completed. Characterisation of the samples using external facilities has also been completed. Additive properties of the products are determined. Interpretation of the results, analysis of the data and documentation are in progress. The project will be completed in all aspects on time, by May 2007.
