Executive Summary
n this project, we propose to develop a whole new system of Intelligent and Interactive Telematics for Transport Systems using WiFi-based wireless mesh networks and embedded in-vehicle information appliances. The key attributes of this system will be security, safety, reliability, performance, multimedia user interface, viable revenue model, and relatively low cost. Architecturally, the system will consist of the following major modules: * Vehicle Tele-tracking Unit (VTU) with embedded low power wireless interface. * Vehicle Information Appliance (VIA) with voice and video interface. * Telematics Control and Monitoring system (TCM). * Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) with Secure Communication Middleware (SCM).
