Dr. Jaap Heringa currently serves as an Adjuncy Faculty at the School of Biotechnology at Amritapuri Campus. He is a Professor of Bioinformatics and the Director of Centre for Integrative Bioinformatics at VU (IBIVU), Free University, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is also the Director of the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC), Education Platform BioWise, Scientific Director of the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC). He pursued his Ph. D. in Bioinformatics (Cum Laude) from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands
