Inauguration

Amrita IETE Students Forum was formally inaugurated by Mr. R. Varadarajan, Principal General Manager, BSNL on 17 August, 2004. Dr. T.R. Padmanabhan, Chairman of Coimbatore Sub-center of IETE presided over the function. Mr. Varadarajan also spoke on “Latest Trends in Telecommunications”.

Intra-collegiate Multimedia and Quiz Event, “TITANIQ”

Amrita IETE Students Forum consisting of over 100 members conducted an intra-collegiate Multimedia and Quiz event in August, 2004. More than 400 students participated. Attractive prizes were given. Prof. K. Gangadharan, Hon Secretary – IETE Coimbatore center gave away the prizes.

Seminar on Wireless Networking
Dr. S Srikanth of Anna University, Chennai conducted a one-day workshop on “Wireless Networking Technology” on 17 December, 2004. The workshop was presided by Prashant R.Nair, Coordinator, Amrita IETE Students’ Forum.

Amrita IETE Students Forum Symposium – TITANIQ
The Amrita – IETE Students Forum organized, “TITANIQ 2005”, an intra-university symposium at the Ettimadai, Coimbatore campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on 8 September, 2005. TITANIQ consisted of three contests, “Animatronics” – Multimedia, “Logo Motif” – Poster Design and “Stupendous Search” – Quiz. More than 250 students participated in these events. Prizes worth Rs. 10000/- were given. The Coimbatore center of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), the largest professional association in India, sponsored the event. Dr. T.R Padmanabhan, Chairman- IETE Coimbatore Center and Dean-Engineering, Amrita University, Prof. K. Gangadharan, Hon Secretary – IETE Coimbatore center and Prashant R.Nair, ISF Coordinator distributed the prizes.
