Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Indo

A team from Amrita University consisting of Ms. Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, Senior Lecturer and Researcher from Amritapuri Campus, together with Dr. Krishnashree and Dr. Vallath Nandakumar, visited many US universities this summer to present on research and other activities at Amrita. Ms.Maneesha is the lead for the project funded by the European Commission, called WINSOC (www.winsoc.org). This very interesting project explores the development and experimental deployment of clusters of wireless sensor networks interconnected by satellite networks for wide area monitoring of landslides. She has presented her research work titled: "Using Wireless Sensor Networks to Detect Rainfall Induced Landslides" at these universities. Most of the Universities are the signatories of MoU signed with Amrita on Collaborative Initiative in Higher Education and Research. The team has used this oppurtunity to update the universities on the activities and the Indo-US initiatives, and to inform on upcoming programs. This include expenses paid, teaching oppurtuniites, and research at Amrita for US faculty. The team met prominent professors and researchers at the following US universities:
