The MSW program at Amrita University is two year full time program which requires high levels of concentration, long hours of work and sustained commitments from students. We have an excellent team of faculty who can inculcate the values of social work to the students in our systematic manner. The school is well-equipped with infrastructure facilities; a good library(Digital included), full time internet accessible computer centre and other paraphernalia. In the first semester students will participate in observational visits to selected social agencies. The course include preparatory work(both individually and in groups).

Program Description

A second year (fourth semester) training Project is compulsory for meeting the requirements for completion of the MSW program. Students are required to undertake a ten-week training project with a social service organization. This placement enables students to be exposed to organizations and to work on field-based projects. At the end of the project the student writes a major report and makes a presentation of the work done under the guidance of a faculty member. Academically, we offer a curriculum at par with the national and international level schools of social work. The curriculum guidelines developed by the American accrediting organization, Council on Social Work Education is incorporated in this program.

Master of Social Work(MSW): Two Years(4 Semesters)

Location: Amritapuri (Kollam) and Coimbatore campuses

Eligibility: Graduate degree in any discipline with a strong aptitude for Social Work

Selection Procedure: Selection will be made on the basis of an aptitude/entrance test and a personal interview.
