Seventh Annual General Body Meeting of Amrita Alumni Association
The Seventh Annual General Body Meeting of Amrita Institute of Technology Alumni Association (AITECAA) was held at Amriteshwari Hall, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Ettimadai, Coimbatore campus on Sunday, 20th February, 2005. The meet was inaugurated by Brahmachari Abhayamrita Chaitanya, Chief Operating Officer of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. There was record participation with almost 300 alumni and 75 faculty members of the engineering school attending the event. Swamiji also addressed the gathering on the leading role that Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Amrita University have taken in the Tsunami relief operations.
 Mr. B. Sabarish Narayanan, Joint Secretary, AITECAA formally welcomed the gathering. Mrs. J. Amudha, Secretary presented the annual report of activities of AITECAA over the last academic year. Prof. K. Gangadharan, President of AITECAA delivered the presidential address. Dr. V. Radhakrishnan, Director – Research, Amrita University and Dr. N. Narayana Pillai, Professor Emeritus distributed mementoes to the university and institution rank holders. Dr. T.R. Padmanabhan, Principal and Dean-Engineering, Amrita University conducted the election of the office bearers of AITECAA for the next year. A presentation on the upcoming Alumni portal was given by Mr. Prasanna, Mr. Ambalavanar and Mr. Jaganathan of Final MSc (Software Engineering).
In the afternoon’s formal function, the final year students (2001-2005 batch B.E) were formally inducted into the alumni association. This was followed by an interaction and knowledge exchange session among the alumni, with the alumni offering suggestions for the improvement of the institution. Ragasudha, the music club of Amrita presented a musical programme. Ms. T. Punitha proposed a vote of thanks.
