National Conference on Quality Improvement Concepts and Implementation in Higher Educational Institutions
QICIHEI 2009, December 11-12, 2009
See Conference Website >>
Quality improvement concepts have been the norm in industry for a few decades now. However, higher educational institutions (HEIs) are only lately beginning to show interest in adopting these for promoting academic excellence. In India, the National Accreditation and Assessment Council, the apex body that accredits HEIs, recommends that they form Internal Quality Assessment Cells (IQACs) to help implement various quality improvement concepts. In order to cater to the needs of these IQACs, the Amrita School of Engineering at Coimbatore will organize a two-day National Conference on Quality Improvement Concepts and their implementation in HEIs.
International Conference on Precision, Meso, Micro and Nano Engineering
December 11-12, 2009
See Conference Website >>
COPEN -- Conference on Precision Engineering -- has been being organized biennially from January 2000 on. IIT Madras, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, Bangalore, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and College of Engineering, Trivandrum have hosted previous COPENs. This year, the 6th COPEN, will be organized in Coimbatore jointly by the Departments of Mechanical Engineering of the Amrita School of Engineering and the PSG College of Technology as well as the Center for Precision Metrology of the University of North Carolina in the US.
The focus of the conference will be the design, manufacturing and measurements associated with precision, meso, micro and nano engineering. IT integrated applications covering precision engineering, micro electronics and biotechnology -- this is the theme of the conference. There will be key note lectures on topics of contemporary significance as well as on future development by eminent international experts. Researchers and practicing engineers from India and abroad will have the opportunity to present their findings and interact with domain experts.
International Symposium on Cloud Computing, Smart Grid and Green IT
Dec 21-23, 2009
See Conference Website >>
India is still a nascent market for cloud computing, smart grid and green IT. This international symposium will be the first such in India.
The aim is to provide a platform for leading research scientists and industry practitioners to deliberate on latest trends, best technologies and socio-economic approaches towards deployment of cloud computing solutions in India. A broad range of topics on Green IT will also be addressed.
Key note addresses, invited talks and three panels will feature an eminent group of scientists, practitioners and policy makers from the best research, academic and government institutes in India and abroad.
