How to Calculate the Marks for AP Candidates

For a student whose 12th scores are available only in GPA, you need to convert it to percentage. The GPA is the average grade point earned by the student in the examination and it is used so as to discourage unhealthy competition among students.

To convert your GPA to a percentage, multiply the GPA with 9.5 For example, a candidate with GPA 9 when converted to percentage will have 85.5%( GPA 9 x 9.5 = 85.5%)

To Convert a Mark Out of 75 to Marks Out of 100

Assume a candidate has the following marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Physics: 71
Chemistry: 62
Mathematics: 67

To convert the marks out of 75 to marks out of 100, follow the steps given below.
Physics: (71x100)/75 = 94.66
Chemistry: (62x100)/75 = 82.66
Mathematics: (67x100)/75 = 89.33
Aggregate Percentage = (94.66+82.66+89.33)/3 = 88.33%

To Convert GPA to Percentage

Assume a candidate has the following GPA for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
Mathematics: 8
Physics: 7.5
Chemistry: 9

To convert the GPA to percentage, you need to multiply the GPA with 9.5.
Mathematics: 8x9.5 = 76%
Physics: 7.5x9.5 = 71.25%
Chemistry: 9x9.5 = 85.5%
Aggregate Percentage = (76+71.25+85.5)/3 = 77.58%
