The Five year (10 semesters) Integrated M.Sc. (Mathematics / Physics) programme started in 2006 with an intake of 40 students. This unique and intense program is conducted in collaboration with Department of Mathematics. The programme curriculum and syllabus has been designed to impart strong theoretical and experimental knowledge to the students, in both physics as well as mathematics. Students get ample opportunities to take part in funded research projects taken up by the department. Students have the option to exit after the first three years with a B.Sc. degree in Physics. At the end of the 3rd year students are free to bifurcate into either physics stream or Mathematics stream for the ‘2-year PG part’ of the program. Most of our students go to well-reputed national institutes and a few to international institutes for their major project in their final semester.
