Amrita University provides access to the Internet and its services through wired network and WiFi network to support teaching, learning, research, administration and approved business activities of the University to all its students and staff who comply with the Internet use policy.
We are managing 220 Mbps of internet backbone with multiple ISPs connected at at our Network Operations Center. Distributed the bandwidth for the students, staff and research communities based on policy and priority.
We are running BGP multihoming for advertising our own IP pool through diverse WAN paths; so we could support on demands like continuous availability of production critical applications, since lack of redundancy and lack of reliability implies loss of productivity.
IPv6 WAN link is established with dual stack transit mechanism and advertised our own IPv6 pool from APNIC through BGP. Also running IPv6 local networks on test basis.
