“Prathichaya” Featured at IDFFT 2019 International Documentary Film Competition

The documentary “Prathichaya” of School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, was screened on the competition section of IDFFT 2019, an International Documentary film competition, conducted by the Media Studies Department of Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur, Kerala, on September 18, 2019.

Ramesh, (Dean of International Programs and Director of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks (AmritaWNA) and Applications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) met with UNESCO's Dr. Kristof Vandenberghe (Secretary of the International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP)) and Dr. Soichiro Yashukawa and Dr. Masaya Sasaki (Programme Specialists on Disaster Risk Reduction), during her invited visit to UNESCO headquarters at Paris as the first group of 58 signatories of the Kyoto 2020 Commitment for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk (KLC2020), signed at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris on September 18, 2019.

Amrita to Launch Technology Enabling Center Supported by DST, Govt. of India

The Amritapuri campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will soon launch a Technology Enabling Center (TEC) supported by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology (DST). The first Programme Advisory Group (PAG) meeting was held at Amritapuri campus on September 21, 2019.

Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, visited Amrita Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) special projects hub center in Jonha, Ranchi, Jharkhand on September 14, 2019. She took a keen interest in visiting Amrita's AMMACHI Labs Skill Development Center when she heard about it during her visit to Women Empowerment event organized by the Sevabharathi campus.
