Amrita Conducts “ Beat Diabetes” Program

The Program “Beat Diabetes” is an ambitious program which aims to screen for complications among persons with Type 2 Diabetes of 5 or more years duration in Ernakulam, parts of Alappuzha and Idukki. This remarkable initiative is expected to prevent diabetic end-organ damage through early detection, counselling and disease management. 

Amrita Student Team Emerge as Champions of Scilab Toolbox Hackathon 2020

A student team from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, has emerged as the champions of the Scilab Toolbox Hackathon 2020. Seven hundred student teams and startups participated in this hackathon organized by Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education (FOSSEE) Center of Excellence at IIT Bombay and supported by National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of Ministry of Education, Government of India.  

Amrita Researchers Receive US Patent - IoT Wearable Devices for Monitoring Patients' Health

Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) received a US patent for its innovative IoT wearable devices for patient monitoring. The researchers at AmritaWNA in collaboration with the doctors at Amrita’s super-specialty AIMS hospital in Kochi developed these state-of-art devices and smart disease detection algorithms.

Amrita Student Team Ranked 3rd in Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2020

Coders of Blaviken, a student team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, was ranked third in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2020 software edition for a problem statement of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. 

Amrita Early Warning System Alerts Kerala Government of Landslides in Munnar

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, one of India’s premier research universities, recently provided two early warnings to the Kerala Government and Idukki District officials through its Landslide Early Warning System (LEWS) deployed at Anthoniar Colony, Munnar, in the Idukki District of Kerala.
