“The market of Internet of Things (IoT) is going to be the next big thing in the tech industry, and will have 20 billion devices connected by the year 2020.” This was the introduction to the 4 day workshop and Developer Weekend on IoT and Smart Home Automation, conducted by Electronics, Communication and Instrumentation Forum (ECIF) of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru campus, in partnership with StudyOwl, started with people trying to digest the full potential of IoT in ways they had never imagined.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham to Co-host the Regional Contest of ACM ICPC 2015

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been hosting the world's prestigious and largest collegiate programming contest, the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), for the past 11 years. This "Olympics of programming contest" attracts worldwide participation every year from students of computer science and engineering. Over these past eleven years, the participation has increased multiple times, reaching 1500+ teams this year. From 240+ institutions across the country, 4500+ talented brains will complete in this contest on Sunday, the 11th of October. Four to five algorithmic problems will be posted for the contest of 3 hours duration. The contest is hosted in CodeChef.com one of the best learning platforms for competitive programming aspirants. To a great extent, CodeChef has contributed in the growth of competitive programming culture in India.

Amrita Hosts Asia Regional Finals of the ACM-ICPC

For the eighth year in a row, Amrita University hosted the Asia Regional Finals of the prestigious ACM-ICPC (Inter Collegiate Programming Contest). This Olympics of programming contests attracts worldwide participation every year from undergraduate students of computer science and engineering.

ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Contest at Amrita

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a multi-tier, team-based, programming competition operating under the auspices of ACM for the past 36 years. A global network of universities host regional competitions that select teams for the ACM-ICPC World Finals. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is one of two such universities in India, IIT Kanpur being the other one. Amrita has hosted an Asia Regional Contest for the past seven years now.
