Title of the talk​

Streptococcus pneumoniae: From nasopharyngeal colonizer to intracellular pathogen

Prof. Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Biosciences & Bioengineering at IIT Bombay. The primary research focus of his lab is bacterial pathogenesis and host pathogen interactions, particularly those pertaining to Streptococcus pneumoniae and Group B Streptococcal infections. He is a recipient of Early Research Achieves Award and Best Teacher award from IIT Bombay. Prior to joining IIT Bombay, he had brief stint in DuPont knowledge Centre, Hyderabad as a Principal Investigator in the Industrial Biotechnology division.
