The Hospital Safety Department at the Health Sciences campus observed World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 30, 2014. Occupational diseases being the leading cause of work related deaths, this year's theme focused on “Safety and Health in the use of Chemicals at Work.” 

School of Engineering organizes Workshop on Topics in Engineering Failure Analysis

Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus organized a workshop on Topics in Engineering Failure Analysis in association with Society for Failure Analysis (SFA), Hyderabad. The key resource persons were from the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam and Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bangalore.

Focusing on autonomous character, he emphasises, “We have freedom to innovate fast.” His expression sinks when he compares Indian context with West. He shares, “Unfortunately, the Government looks at private institutions with lot of doubts. If you look at US, 7 out of the top 10 universities are private players like MIT, Stanford. There is exceptional talent pouring in some private universities. Department of Community Medicine at Amrita School of Medicine observed World Health Day 2014

The Department of Community Medicine at Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi organized a community action program in Araya LP School at Njarakkal, Kochi, to mark World Health Day, keeping with this year’s theme “Small Bite; Big Threat” - focusing on the threat caused by mosquitoes, flies, ticks etc.
