The Department of Computer Science embarks on providing its students a strong background in computing in an efficient, effective and innovative learning environment with an aim to impart cognitive learning. Comprising young and dynamic faculty members, the department strives to produce technically proficient and socially responsible graduates.
The department through its programmes strives to provide sound subject knowledge through effective pedagogy with focus on skill development strengthened by cultural and value orientation, implanting both societal and environmental concerns. The primary emphasis is to train and mould the students into professionally committed and socially responsible corporate leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Department of Languages at the School has formulated its goals and objectives, to supplement the students learning in various UG and PG programmes, run by the School. The primary goal of the Department is to mould a student, into a complete human being, who makes use of his communicative skills in creating a better world. The Department also realizing the communicative requirement of students for recruitment the department constantly endeavors to render them employability ready. Currently the department comprises two in house faculty members for English and one for Kannada and employs visiting faculty for other second languages like Hindi and Sanskrit.
Centre for Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR), one of the important centers of the campus, functions in coordination with the Directorate of CIR situated at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham head quarters at Ettimadai. CIR supports the students with best career guidance and placement opportunities by closely working with many of the major corporates in India. CIR has succeeded in attracting several leading recruiters, resulting in 100% placements of MCA & MSc (CS) students for the last three consecutive batches..
Information & Communication Technology Services (ICTS) is an integral part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, which provides computing resources for the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s research, academic and administrative needs. The department consists of five business units providing IT resources, services and user support.
ICTS brings together several related areas of IT infrastructure and telecommunication as a result of the institution’s vision for seamlessly initiating new ventures to integrate Information Technology into teaching, learning and research. It also trains the staff and students for technological upgradation. We offer students and faculty members immediate services in terms of troubleshooting and servicing the desktop systems and other peripherals. ICTS also conducts career oriented short-term certification programmes like Red Hat Linux, CCNA, etc.
