The mechanical design engineers at AMMACHI Labs (Amrita Multi Modal Applications Using Computer & Human Interaction), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, used 3D modeling to design N easy-to-make toilet, with less material and skilled labour, which will benefit thousands of families in rural India.

AMMACHI Labs Featured in UNESCO-UNEVOC Promising Practices

Amrita Multi Modal Applications and Computer Human Interaction (AMMACHI Labs) was featured in the UNESCO-UNEVOC Promising Practices. AMMACHI Labs offers a programme that uses innovative approaches and modern technology to overcome the obstacles rural women face in terms of access to Technical Vocational Education and Training .

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Summer Camp students and Amrita Multi Modal Application Using Computer and Human Interaction’s (AMMACHI Lab) Community Organizers  in Kimana and Dunda villages celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2017, by planting trees and plants. An event also was organized at Nani Borvai village in Gujarat. 

Amrita Team Takes Measures for Women Empowerment in Karnataka

AMMACHI Labs team along with Amrita SeRVe and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Manglore, introduced a machine that makes Areca nut plates in Byse village of Karnataka. These eco friendly and biodegradable nut plates are made from the leaves fallen from Areca nut trees. The production of these plates comes in two sizes- 10'' & 4.5". This initiative is expected to generate income for the women in Byse and be a suitable replacement for the widely used plastic plates. The team from Amrita has successfully completed the skill training for the women in Byse village.

MySangham, an online vocational education portal developed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's research center AMMACHI Labs, was amongst the winners of Facebook’s Innovation Challenge in India.
