AmritaCREATE Director Invited as Distinguished Panelist at ICEGOV 2017

Dr. Prema Nedungadi, Research Director at AmritaCREATE, one of the research initiatives of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was invited as a distinguished panelist  at the 10th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2017) held at New Delhi, India from March  7-9, 2017. 

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's MedSim Software Well Received at RGUHS (Bangalore)

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) at Karnataka, is the foremost Health Science University in India, established at Bangalore by the Government of Karnataka. On April 21, 2017, AmritaCREATE (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) was given the unique opportunity to conduct a live demonstration of MedSim in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Dr. K. S. Ravindranath.

First MedSim Workshop Held at Karnataka - A Success

The first MedSim workshop in Karnataka was conducted at Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Hassan, on April 18, 2017. It was coordinated by Dr. Girish Babu, Programme Coordinator, Professor and Head, Department of Dentistry. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sreejith and Mr. Ashish Mohan, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

New School Year Starts at Amrita RITE Education Centers

It is really exciting for children in primary grades to march off to the next grade classroom with new backpacks, books, crayons, pencils and other school supplies. AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, makes this wish possible for many rural children from economically- challenged families at 48 centers in 21 states across the country, through the Amrita RITE Project. 

iJOE Outstanding Paper Award for Amrita Virtual Lab Paper

A paper on Sakshat Amrita Virtual Labs titled, "Complementing Education via Virtual Labs: Implementation and Deployment of Remote Laboratories and Usage Analysis in South Indian Villages", published in 2016 by International Journal of Online Engineering (iJOE), was awarded the "iJOE Outstanding Paper Award".

AmritaCREATE Team Visits Schools and Villages in Andhra Pradesh

The AmritaCREATE team visited different schools in Andhra Pradesh as the part of Online Labs training programme and Amrita RITE project from February 15- 17, 2017. Tenali, a city in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, was the first place visited on 15 February, 2017. Mr.Suresh Dhandapani represented AmritaCREATE.

Amrita O-Labs Training Program at St. John’s School, Kollam

AmritaCREATE, one of the research projects of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in collaboration with Travancore Sahodaya, jointly organized a teachers training programme on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments- a virtual project for students from class 9 to class 12 to perform Biology, Physics and Chemistry lab experiments. The event held at St. John’s School, Kollam, Kerala, on February 22, 2017. The training program was attended by seventy- five science teachers from thirty- six schools.

Amrita Online Labs Training Program at Hill Blooms School, Wayanad

AmritaCREATE, one of the research initiatives of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in collaboration with Wayanad Sahodaya, conducted a teachers training program on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments at Hill Blooms School, Wayanad, on February 18, 2017. Fifty science teachers from twenty- four schools participated in the training program.

Virtual Patients Help Aspiring Doctors Practice!

A one day hands-on workshop on MedSim, a computer-based medical simulation software developed Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in association with CDAC Trivandrum, under a research grant from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, was conducted for the final year MBBS students of Trivandrum Medical College on March 3, 2017. 

Amrita Online Labs Training Program at Hira International School, Uttar Pradesh

AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized a one-day training program on Online Labs project at Hira International school, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, on February 4, 2017. Fifteen science teachers from four nearby schools participated in the workshop.

Amrita O-Labs Training Program at S. D. P. Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, Punjab

AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, conducted a one-day workshop on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments at S. D. P. Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, Punjab on January 28, 2017. Thirteen science teachers from five schools participated in the workshop.

Amrita O-Labs Workshop at Bharani Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School, Karur, Tamil Nadu

A workshop on virtual learning project ‘Online Labs for School Lab Experiments’ was organized at Bharani Vidhyalaya Senior Secondary School, Karur, Tamil Nadu, on October 22, 2016, by AmritaCREATE, one of the research and project development wings of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Eighty-five science teachers from twenty-five schools participated in the workshop.

AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Kottayam Sahodaya jointly organized a one-day workshop on the project ‘Online Labs for School Lab Experiments’ at Sanjos Senior Secondary School, Choondacherry, Kottayam, on January 21, 2017. One hundred and seventy science teachers from sixty-nine schools attended the workshop.

M.Tech. EEE Students Blend Tech and Service in Field Trip to Idukki

Forty-five M.Tech. students of Power & Energy, Control & Instrumentation, along with faculty members  Dr. Ilango K. , Ms. Jayasree P. R. and Mr. Bharat K. R. from the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Amritapuri campus spent August 12th and 13th, 2016, as a part of co-curricular activity in Munnar and  Idukki.
