AmritaWNA is committed to progressive research and learning and has established strong ties with many academic institutions, government agencies, and industrial organizations. Over the past several years, the department has brought together expertise from large companies, various universities, and research centers, around the world, to help tackle many of society’s problems via the use of wireless technology. Vrije University, Amsterdam

Ever since it was founded in 1880, VU Amsterdam has been known for its distinctive approach to knowledge. Academic research and education at VU is characterized by a high level of ambition, and encourages free and open communications and ideas. In Leiden Ranking, which is based on bibliometric and collaboration indicators, VU University Amsterdam is positioned second in the bibliometric ranking PP10% in the country. In the Times Higher Education World University (THE) Rankings 2014-2015, VU University Amsterdam is placed 136th. In the ‘Academic Ranking of World Universities’ (ARWU) 2014, or the Shanghai Ranking, VU University Amsterdam is listed in 4th place, nationally and Worldwide, VU University Amsterdam holds a position 100. The University of New Mexico

Founded in 1889 as New Mexico’s flagship institution, The University of New Mexico now occupies nearly 800 acres near old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque. UNM boasts an outstanding faculty that includes a Nobel Laureate, two MacArthur Fellows, 35 Fulbright scholars and several members of national academies.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Since its founding in 1827, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key center of intellectual talent and innovation. In Times Higher Education ranking, KTH ranked as 155th best university, ranked as 74th best university in Europe, among the purely engineering and technology universities in the world ranked as no. 19. US News and World Report ranked KTH Royal Institute of Technology as 198th best university in the world. KTH became involved in international cooperation in an early stage, and is today running a large number of international projects and cooperates with prestigious universities worldwide. Carnegie Mellon University, Silicon Valley Campus, USA

Since first opening its doors in Pittsburgh in 1900, Carnegie Mellon University has been educating elite engineers and scientists to meet the ever-changing and complex technological challenges of society. In 2002, the University established a branch campus in Silicon Valley and offers master’s programs in Software Engineering, Software Management, Electrical & Computer Engineering and Information Technology, as well as a bicoastal Ph.D. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus in Mobility, offered in conjunction with the CyLab Mobility Research Center.

Carnegie Mellon University is a celebrated research center and has developed a strong and growing set of research programs related to mobile computing, security, the Internet of Things, machine learning, and software as a service.

Cylab Mobility Research Center in Silicon Valley covers research in wireless security, mobile context awareness, airborne sensing, in-building sensing, cross-layer mobile networking, platformization of the Internet of Things etc. Researchers, faculty and students have access to several laboratories on campus, including the Carnegie Mellon Innovations Lab, the Connected Embedded Systems Lab, the Smart Spaces Lab and the RF Lab, to develop new ideas. Department of Science & Technology (DST) was established in May 1971, with the objective of promoting new areas of Science & Technology and to play the role of a nodal department for organizing, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country. Natural Resources Data Management System (NRDMS)

Natural Resources Data Management System (NRDMS) programme was initiated in 1982 by the Department of Science and Technology as a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional R&D programme of the Department of Science and Technology, aimed at developing methodologies for building and promoting the use of spatial data management and analysis technologies in local area planning. For developing necessary inputs for local planning strategies, NRDMS is supporting several academic and R & D Institutions with projects specially focusing towards the need of local level planning. Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)

Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) was created in 12th July, 2006 bringing under its administrative control India Meteorological Department (IMD), Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF). The main mission of MoES is to conduct scientific and technical activities related to Earth System Science for improving forecasting of weather, monsoon, climate and hazards, exploration of polar regions, seas around India and develop technology for exploration and exploitation of ocean resources (living and non-living), ensuring their sustainable utilization.
