We are delighted to share that a team of final-year students from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) program has won the prestigious Guidewire Hackathon 2025. The teamClusterBusters—Adithya N.S., Anaswara Suresh M.K., Avi Nair, CS Amritha, and Sruthi R—emerged as winners after an intense 45-day competition that brought together top talent from across the country to solve real-world challenges in cloud infrastructure, machine learning, and DevOps.
Their winning project, KubeBoom, is a real-time monitoring and predictive analytics tool designed to detect and proactively remediate pod health anomalies in Kubernetes clusters. The innovation not only enhances system reliability but also minimizes downtime through intelligent, automated interventions.
The hackathon was conducted in two phases. During Phase 1, the team focused on data collection and building a machine learning model using open-source tools and publicly available datasets. The model was trained to identify early warning signs of cluster instability. In Phase 2, they integrated a remediation module powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), enabling the system to recommend and apply fixes in real time based on detected anomalies.
KubeBoom features a dynamic dashboard that offers real-time cluster monitoring, predictive insights, and automated remediation capabilities. The project was shared with the judging panel via a live dashboard and a public GitHub repository:
The team was shortlisted among the top five finalists and invited to Guidewire’s Bangalore office for an in-person mentorship round. There, they refined their solution with guidance from industry experts. Their journey culminated at DevSummit 2025 DemoJam, where they presented KubeBoom live to an audience of over 1,500 attendees, including senior engineers, technologists, and industry leaders.
The response was overwhelming, and in a moment of great pride, our students were declared the winners of the Guidewire Hackathon 2025. In recognition of their outstanding work, the team received certificates and a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakhs.
This achievement is a testament to the team’s technical expertise, creativity, and collaborative spirit. The department congratulates Adithya, Anaswara, Avi, Amritha, and Sruthi for bringing this honor to the institution. We look forward to their continued success in the world of innovation and cybersecurity.
M.Tech. Students in Cyber Security from Coimbatore campus are among the top 5 teams in the Cyber Security Innovation & Research (Hack-a-thon 2015), a full day hacking event, conducted at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore on 15th December 2015.
M. Tech. Cyber Security students Krishna Ram Prakash, Nischai, Sudakshina Singha Roy and Aswin was among the top five teams selected for finals to be held on June 2016.
The Cyber Security Innovation and Research contests; sponsored by US Consulate, Chennai and implemented by Learning Links Foundation are a series of Hackathons, which will be conducted in South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Kerala. Learning Links Foundation will be organizing these hackathons in premier technological institutions. These Hackathons are focused on creating awareness and developing skills in Cyber Security discipline, the platform is also designed to promote networking initiatives for students and budding engineers to inspire and enable skill development and innovation in Cyber Security field in India. The focus is on the youth, who will participate in the event with a maximum of 4 members in a team.
