Amrita Schools of Engineering is organizing a unique, first of its kind girls only competitive programming contest in the first half of 2021. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has always been in the forefront to spread the culture of competitive programming in the country. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is one of the universities hosting the world’s largest competitive programming contest, ICPC. The university has been hosting various programmes like coding camps, competitions, programming championships for the school and college students. Amrita wishes to encourage the participation of girls for problem solving and competitive programming. Competitive programming is gaining importance in IT industry as the industry is looking for graduates with coding skills. This contest is open to girl students who loves coding, ready to face challenges and who wants to improve coding skills. Now a days, coding is applied in all the domains and software and computing has become part and parcel of our everyday life.
Why to Participate in this Contest?
Competitive programming helps you to have a strong foundation to start problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Competitive programming needs basic mathematical, algorithmic and knowledge on data structures that makes your mind sharp and think logically. All the questions are set by girl engineering students from Amrita. There are 4 online rounds followed by an onsite round (onsite will be conducted only if situation is permitted). The contest is open to all the girl students from schools.
Online sessions will be held prior to the contest to train the students and boost the confidence.
How to Participate?
Contest will be held on Competitive Drills Contests platform. It is an online judge that helps you to understand the mistakes or errors instantly. Start practicing with the problems already posted in the above online platform.

Who Can Participate?
A minimum of two girl students can form a team. Any school student passionate in coding and competitive programming can participate in the event. Participants are expected to have basic skills in problem solving & coding.
Passion to Code. Any school student is eligible. The contest is open to girls in higher education too. But the prizes and awards are for the school students.
- The competition is a team event, to encourage teamwork.
- A minimum of 2 girls are required to form a team. The maximum number is 3.
- It is always advisable to get the team mentored by a teacher.
