Asthra, the Annual Management Fest of Department of Management, Kochi was started in the year 2012 and has been its flagship event ever since.
Over the years, Asthra has had the privilege of being host to a large number of researchers, scholars and academicians from all sectors.
Last year we had an international symposium on “Managing Business in a VUCA world” which was aimed at analysing the unpredictable and changing business environment we are part of.
As our flagship event is entering into its 9th edition, we try to address the evolving concept –“CSR and Sustainability: Decoding the CSR Ecosystem in India”, that has emerged has a mainstream business practice in the recent years.
What is CSR?
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an evolving concept that reflects various views and approaches regarding corporate relationships with broader society. By integrating social and environmental concerns into business operations, companies nowadays are successful in establishing employee morale in the workplace. It is only together we can achieve a new phase of globalization that includes sustainable markets and the welfare of fellow beings. As the popularity of corporate social responsibility(CSR) continues to rise, it is evolving beyond being a trend to becoming the norm.The 9th edition of Asthra is being held as a symposium and seeks to decode the Corporate Social Responsibility ecosystem and also to highlight the role of CSR in today’s environment.
