To highlight the ancient learning method of Ayurveda Shastra, Amrita School of Ayurveda organized a Parayana program on Charaka Samhita Shareera Sthana from 18-19 November 2015. The program started with the Dhanwantari Puja. Welcome speech was delivered Prof. Jaya Shankar Mund, HOD, Department of Samhita Sanskrita and Siddhanta, followed by words of blessings by Director of Amrita School of Ayurveda Br. Sankara Chaitanya. Principal of Amrita School of Ayurveda Prof. Dr. Vasudevan Nampoothiri delivered the keynote address. This was followed by the felicitation Vice Principal of Amrita School of Ayurveda Prof. Dr. Rabinarayan Tripathy.
Renowned experts of the subject from all over the India were invited for this program to summarize the chapters and share their practical experiences with the students. The chapters of Sharira Sthana was recited by the BAMS students of 2013 and 2014 batch respectively. Dr. Dilip Nalge shared his view on the Katidhapurusheeya, Dr. Arhanth Kumar and Dr. Shreevathsa discussed the Atulyagotreeya Shareeram, Mahati Garbhavakranti Shareera and Jatisutreeya Shareera Adhayaya in Tadvdhya Sambhasha method. Khuddika Garbhavakranti Shareera and Shareerasankhya Shareera were beautifully summarized by Dr. Vasudevan who is also the expert of Yoga. Dr. P. Ram Manohar discussed the Chapters Purushavichaya Shareera and Shareeravichaya Shareera Adhyaya in a very informative way. Question and answer session was conducted for students to clarify any doubts from the experts on both the days of the program.

This was a unique program organized to revive and emphasize the traditional learning method. The students found the sessions very interesting and the whole learning experience was both inspirational and helpful to explore the ancient knowledge in a better way.
