Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, will conduct “CLOT- Education’ the 1st Amrita CME on “Bleeding Disorders and Hands-on Workshop on Coagulation Tests”. The event is organised by the Department of Pathology, AIMS, Kochi, from September 5 – 6, 2019. The meeting intends to simplify the understanding of norma I physiology as well as complexities of disturbed processes in various bleeding disorders, both for Pathologists as well as clinicians.

The workshop aims at refining the knowledge about the various methodologies, testing algorithms along with the correct interpretation of common tests of haemostasis in the right clinical scenarios. This would be achieved with the help of relevant lectures, case discussions, hands on workshop and case based test interpretations.The workshop is open for Pathology postgraduate students and practising pathologists.

The CME that follows, focuses on the day to day issues starting from when to suspect a bleeding disorder, their sub classification, diagnostic testing and management guidelines. It has been tailored in such a way to benefit both young laboratoricians/clinicians as well as practising clinical fraternity from departments of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynaecology, pathology, Clinical Haematology and would be beneficial in day to day patient management.
