The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, will conduct a 4-day Web-based Faculty Development Program on Nanoscience and Technology- Materials to Various Applications, from June 25-28, 2020.

“There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom” a revolutionary lecture by Richard Feynman in 1959 has provided a new thought process to the scientific community to miniaturize and advance prevailing technologies. Inspired with this vision and substantiated with tremendous research efforts, a new branch of science called nanotechnology originated. With a promise to advance and benefit the society through its wide range of applications in medicines, energy, environment, information technology, aerospace science etc., nanotechnology has emerged as a cutting-edge science in this modern era.

Owing to its capability to display improved characteristics at small dimensions, nanomaterial is considered as one of the crucial components of nanotechnology. Enriched with outstanding physical, chemical, biological, optical and electronic properties, nanomaterials helped in improving the existing technologies and also opened new avenues to develop novel scientific/technological fields. This seminar aims at providing an insight into the various areas of applications in nanoscience and technology in catering human needs.

Time: 1 hr each/Session- 2 sessions per day
