As a part of the International Women’s Day 2019, the Department of Prasuti Tantra Stri Roga of School of Ayurveda (ASA), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, in association with the Araya Vamsha Paripalana Yogam, conducted a free diagnostic medical camp on March 8, 2019, from 9 am to 1 pm at Cheriazheekal, Karunagappally.
54 female patients attended the camp with gynaecology complaints like white discharge, menstrual irregularities, infertility, urinary incontinence and other general complaints. The OP was headed by Dr. Hemavathi (Professor and HOD, Department of Prasuti Tantra StriRoga, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus) and Dr. Anjaly (Assistant Professor, Department of Prasuti Stri Roga, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus). An examination hall was set up and the PG scholars or the Department along with the support of the nursing staffs, Mrs. Vasantha undertook the per speculum and per vaginal examination. Vaginal swabs and pH were tested for relevant cases. Amrita Life and IP pharrnacy of ASA supported the camp by delivering the medicines prescribed to the patients free of cost. The house surgeons of ASA having the Prasuti Stri Roga posting undertook the registration and pharmacy duties along with the PG’s and pharmacy staff, Ambili.
The camp gave an opportunity to the PG’s to gain experience and see diverse cascs. lt was surely a better way to serve the society also.
