The Department of Commerce and Management, School of Arts and Sciences hosted a one day workshop on 'Gateway to Financial Freedom' by Hedge Equities on February 19, 2016.

The objective of this session was to provide a major insight into the fast changes in the securities markets, to learn and to be updated on the latest concepts and practices. The seminar was aimed to improve the basic knowledge and skill for trading in the financial markets.

  • To make the students aware about the basics of the Indian Securities Market and its key concepts
  • To introduce the products, process, and functionality related to Securities Markets to the students
  • Understand the Operational Mechanism related to Equity/Derivatives Markets
  • Understand the various Trading Strategies that can be built using Futures and Options on both Stocks and Stock Indices


The session was informative for the students. Basic concepts were discussed in detail with relatable examples. The students were introduced to further internship programs at hedge equities.  Participants were encouraged to ask doubts and since live examples and on-site instructions were given, students showed their willingness to start Demat account. Overall the session was helpful for the students. They were given an idea where to invest their savings on.
