The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) annually conducts an international Inter-Collegiate Programming Contest – ICPC. FACE under the supervision of Radhakrishnan and Sangeeta took up the initiative to introduce and register students for the contest during the month of September. A practice session to give the students an exposure of the real deal was conducted as well.
This year’s ICPC Asia Amritapuri Site Online Round was co-conducted at the Bangalore campus on October 11, 2015. The event was overseen by the mentor of FACE, Vishwas and Sreevidya.
The intense programming contest started at 5 PM on Sunday evening and kept the coders engaged for three long hours. The 2015 version of ICPC saw a turnout of forty odd teams comprising of three members each. The participating coders varied from all branches and batches of engineering. While most teams solved at least one problem, team ASE BLR 1, which cracked two questions has qualified for the onsite round which is to be held in the month of December in Bangalore Campus.
FACE is all geared up to organize the upcoming onsite event successfully and also conveys its best wishes to the qualifying team from Bangalore.
