With the sense of fulfilment in becoming a prominent hub for sharing innovations and ideas within a short span of time, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Amritapuri Campus organized its second global event, IEEE International (Biennial) Conference on Technological Advancement in Power and Energy - TAP Energy 2017during 21st – 23rd December 2017.

Besides the technical richness, the conference excelled in organizational and event management features with the joint support of IEEE Kerala Section and IEEE Power & Energy Society. The conference was chaired by Dr. Manjula G. Nair, Professor & Chairperson, Department of EEE, ASE-Amritapuri and was coordinated byDr. Ilango K, Ms. Sreelekshmi R. S., and Mr. Meher Madhu Dharmana, Assistant Professors of the Department.

TAP ENERGY 2017 received more than 370 paper submissions from 7 countries in addition to India: Japan, China, Singapore, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Morocco and U.A.E were among them. After careful analysis and expert reviews, 179 papers were accepted for presentation in five different tracks namely Power and Energy, Control and Automation, Green Technologies, Computational Technologies and Smart Markets, Trading & Business Models. The participants presented papers in 6 parallel sessions, reviewed by eminent session chairs from all over India. Top three presented papers in the conference received “Prof. Mohammed H. Rashid Best Paper Award” from Dr. Ilangovan Group Director, Chemical System, VSSC during the valedictory function. Mr.V. C. Vijayakumar, Former Head, Application Development Division, VSSC delivered the valedictory address.
