Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has always been in the forefront to spread the culture of competitive programming in the country. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is one of the universities hosting the world’s largest competitive programming contest, ICPC. The university has been hosting various programmes like coding camps, competitions, programming championships for the school and college students. Competitive programming is gaining importance in IT industry as the industry is looking for graduates with coding skills. Now a days, coding is applied in all the domains and software and computing has become part and parcel of our everyday life.
Amrita Indian Sports Programming Championship (ISPC) is a multi-tier competitive programming competition to select the best talented programmers from schools & train them in competitive programming. This will help them to be good problem solvers when they join higher education in engineering. Demand for computer programmers with skills in algorithms, mathematics is increasing as the artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics is encroaching all the domains.
Indian Sports Programming Championship is a platform to drive more school students towards competitive programming.
Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Team Management Skills
The contest is a team event, to enhance the team management skills in given period of time. All the problems are based on real life situations. This helps students to think out of box to improve their problem-solving skills.
Who Can Participate?
Any school student passionate in coding and competitive programming can participate in the event. Participants are expected to have basic skills in problem solving & coding.
Round 1: January 2021
Open to all students across the country. 2 hours, 4 problems.
Round 2: February 2021
Top 10 teams from each state are selected from Tier 1. 3 hours, 4 problems
Round 3:March 2021
Top 5 teams from each are state are invited to participate the Tier 3.
All the above contests are fully online. Online Coding Bootcamp will be conducted after the board examinations in 2021 to those who are invited to participate in Tier 3.
Exact dates will be announced only after the announcement of the board examinations in India.
