With the advent of model based system design, sophisticated control algorithms for control and automation are now being implemented in real plants with much ease. The workshop focuses on design, simulation and implementation of advanced control methods for various real-world applications.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 1994. It offers B.Tech. Programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, M.Tech. programmes in Control & Instrumentation, Renewable Energy Technology, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems and Ph.D. Programme. The department has excellent teaching and learning facilities including state-of-the-art laboratories. The Microsoft-sponsored Embedded Systems Laboratory caters to the needs of training and research at graduate level. Power System, Power Electronics, Drives and Renewable Energy Systems and Control Systems are the other areas of research in the department. The department has academic collaboration with world class universities rendering opportunities for collaborative research.
